He was a “first” for Courtney, the director of Special Needs Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation (SNARR). She had seen many medical cases, but she had never seen a face quite like Woody’s.

When Woody arrived in New York City, he was an eight-month-old dog acting like an eight-week-old puppy. He didn’t have manners; he jumped on people and chased cats, having never been taught how to be a “house pet.”

But the moment he entered his foster home with Jamie Bond, the “love bug” inside him took over.

On his very first day with Jamie, she fell ill with a fever. Woody, who had been a stray just days before, sensed something was wrong. He never left her side.
