As she sat there, unsupervised children in the park began to bully her. They painfully pulled at her swollen breasts and cruelly threw stones at her.

Yet, she never once growled or defended herself.

She simply lowered her head and endured the abuse, choosing to stay in that exact spot. She was desperately waiting for her owner to come back and pick her up, holding onto a fragile, foolish hope that they would return with her babies.

Healing a Shattered Spirit

Thankfully, compassionate rescuers were alerted to the heartbreaking scene and immediately rushed to her side.

They gently scooped her up and transported her straight to the veterinary clinic for a full medical evaluation. Physically, the veterinarians confirmed she was in relatively good health, and they were able to help relieve the painful pressure of her milk.

However, her spirit was a completely different story.

She was deeply, fundamentally hurt. It is a powerful, undeniable instinct—no mother simply accepts being forcibly separated from her children. The light in her eyes had completely faded, replaced by a hollow, mourning stare.

The rescuers named her Hera, promising the beautiful dog that her days of being used and discarded were officially over.

Today, Hera’s life is unrecognizable from that dark day in the park.

She follows her new mom absolutely everywhere, staying as close to her side as possible. Whether they are going for a long walk or simply doing chores and cleaning around the house, Hera is always there, turning every mundane moment into an act of love.

Our beautiful Hera is incredibly affectionate. She is a true lover of all people and has even formed wonderful relationships with new dog friends.

She has finally left her painful past behind her. While she may never forget the babies she lost, she is now moving forward towards a bright, beautiful life—surrounded by the pure, unconditional love she always deserved.
