That was the heartbreaking reality for one tiny, forgotten puppy.

When the dedicated team at Rescue Mission HT received an urgent distress call from a local resident, they knew they had to act fast. They drove miles away from their city, navigating the quiet hillside until they heard a sound that would break anyone’s heart: the desperate, nonstop whimpering of a baby dog.

When they finally found him, he was curled up tightly under an old tree. His tiny body was trembling, and as the rescuers approached, they could actually see two lines of tears rolling down his dirty cheeks.

The puppy’s condition was devastating to witness.

He was severely malnourished, his stomach growling loudly from days of starvation. His fur was heavily matted and missing in large patches due to a painful skin condition. Worse yet, his fragile body was covered in thousands of fleas and ants, and he had small, untreated wounds scattered across his back.

Wanting to show him that he was finally safe, one of the rescuers pulled out a small sausage they had brought along.

The moment the puppy smelled the food, he rushed forward. He ate greedily, trying to fill his aching stomach. Despite his fear and exhaustion, he gave his tiny tail a faint wag. It was a small, hesitant gesture, but it was his way of saying “thank you.”

A Promise to Return

The rescue, however, was not going to be simple. The puppy was still incredibly anxious and terrified of being picked up.

To keep him safe and contained, the rescuers gently placed him inside a styrofoam crate. They carefully applied a mild bug spray to rid his fur of the biting ants, which also helped to clean his superficial wounds. But as the sun began to set and darkness crept over the mountain, the puppy grew too fearful to travel.

Reluctantly, they had to leave him safely tucked inside the warm crate with fresh food and water, promising to return at the first light of dawn.

The very next morning, they kept their promise. When they arrived, the sweet boy was waiting for them. This time, his fear had melted into a soft smile. He finally allowed himself to be scooped up into loving arms, ready to leave the lonely mountain behind forever.

The Long Journey to a Real Home

Because the rescuers lived in a city far away, the journey back was a massive undertaking.

After five hours of driving, they stopped to rent a small hotel room for the night so the exhausted puppy could rest. They fed him a hearty meal of dog food and creatively arranged their own soft shirts on the floor to make a cozy, makeshift bed.

The puppy clung closely to his rescuer’s legs that night, terrified of being abandoned again. But as the warmth of the room and the softness of the shirts embraced him, he finally fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.

The next morning, they embarked on the final seven-hour stretch of their drive. Despite the grueling trip, every single mile was worth it, because this sweet boy was finally going home.

Sunshine, Healing, and a Beautiful Transformation

Once they arrived, the hard work of healing began.

A thorough veterinary exam confirmed that while his skin was severely inflamed and covered in scabs, he thankfully had no contagious diseases. Armed with a special medicated spray and a strict care routine, his new family went to work.

Every single day, alongside his medical treatments, they brought him out to the balcony to sunbathe. The warm sunlight worked wonders, slowly healing his damaged skin. As the weeks passed, his appetite grew immensely. He wagged his tail happily at every meal, exploring every corner of his new house—from the kitchen to the bathroom—with wide-eyed wonder.

A Fluffy White Miracle

Today, you would never recognize the sad, crying puppy from the mountain.

Nearly 80% of his fur has beautifully grown back, revealing a stunning, perfectly smooth white coat. The hard scabs have completely vanished, replaced by soft skin and a joyful, endless smile.

He is incredibly smart, having quickly learned basic commands like how to shake hands. Whenever he wants to play, he simply reaches out his paw, radiating an endless source of happy energy. To celebrate his new life, his family frequently dresses him in bright, colorful clothes—especially to prepare for festive holidays.

The tears he once cried on that lonely mountain have dried up forever. After enduring so much pain and isolation, he is finally living the full, joyful, and deeply loved life he always deserved.
