Most haunting of all were his eyes—swollen shut by a massive, untreated infection that made him look “scary” to those who didn’t look closer.

To some, he was a “lost cause.” To Klaudija, he was a life waiting to begin.

The Fight for the Light

Saving Frodo wasn’t just about medicine; it was about reclaiming a soul.

At the veterinary clinic, the news was bittersweet. His right eye was so badly damaged by the infection that it was beyond saving. To give him a future, the eye had to be removed. However, the doctors managed to save his left eye, ensuring that Frodo would never have to live in total darkness again.

But the road was long. Covered in fleas and ticks, and so weak he could barely stand, no one was sure he would survive the first night. Yet, day by day, the “Gollum” of the streets began to fade, and a tiny warrior emerged.

The Bloom of a New Life

As the weeks turned into months, a miracle began to unfold.

The dry, inflamed skin started to heal. Then came the first signs of red fur—soft, vibrant, and thick. As his coat returned, so did his confidence. The dog who once huddled in the shadows was now the first to wag his tail at every visitor.

His “before and after” photos eventually reached Reddit, where they garnered over 20,000 votes from people who couldn’t believe it was the same animal. Among those people were Marko Dusparo and his wife.
