Sometimes, a rescue isn’t just about a change of scenery; it’s about a literal fight against a ticking clock.
Meet Jordan. For years, Jordan’s world was exactly two feet wide. That was the length of the heavy metal chain his owners used to keep him hidden in a trash-filled yard. He wasn’t allowed to roam, he wasn’t allowed to feel a kind touch, and he certainly wasn’t allowed to be a dog. He slept among broken bottles and was fed nothing but stale bread and leftover bones.
But the physical neglect wasn’t the worst part. Jordan was a victim of brutal, drunken beatings that eventually led to something far more sinister than a chain: a massive, aggressive bone tumor that made it impossible for him to even stand.

Choosing Hope When Others Said No
When we finally “bought” Jordan’s freedom from his owner, the news from the local vets was devastating. The X-rays confirmed Osteosarcoma—bone cancer. It was spreading so fast it was breaking through his skin. Most experts told us he was a “lost cause” and suggested we put him to sleep to end his suffering.
But we looked at Jordan and saw a fighter who had already survived years of hell. We weren’t ready to give up. We searched until we found a hospital in Istanbul, Turkey, that was willing to take a chance on him.

Before his flight, we gave him a long, warm bath. It felt like we were washing away years of bad energy and the shadows of the people who had hurt him. He leaned into the massage, finally learning what it felt like to be cared for.
A New Life as a “Tripod”
Once in Istanbul, the challenge grew. Doctors found a second tumor near his chest. The plan was daunting: an urgent amputation, a second tumor removal, and intense chemotherapy.
The surgery was a success. The moment Jordan woke up, he was finally free from the heavy, painful weight of that tumor. It was a trade—one leg for a lifetime of freedom—and Jordan took it without a second thought. By the third day after his surgery, he was already figuring out how to navigate the world as a “tripod dog.” He’s a fast learner because, for the first time, he actually has somewhere to go.

Moving Freely Toward the Future
Today, the change in Jordan is nothing short of a miracle.
- The Appetite: He’s finally enjoying real, nutritious meals and gaining strength.
- The Spirit: He is on his feet, bouncy, and genuinely happy.
- The Treatment: He has already completed three rounds of chemotherapy and is being monitored closely by a team that truly loves him.
The chain and the tumor held him down for so long, but they couldn’t stop him. Jordan is currently living at the hospital, where he gets all the attention he missed out on for years. He isn’t just surviving cancer; he is outrunning it.
Jordan’s journey is a reminder to us all:
- No case is truly “lost” as long as there is someone willing to fight.
- Freedom feels better when you’ve waited a lifetime for it.
- A three-legged run is just as joyful as a four-legged one.
Please keep sending your love and strength to Jordan as he continues his recovery. He has a lot of years of running to make up for.
