Imagine the absolute terror of being trapped in complete darkness, desperately gasping for air, and unable to cry out for help.

For a dog who would later be known as Bella, this horrific nightmare was a deliberate act of cruelty.

It started on a seemingly ordinary street in Roraima. Neighbors watched as a man casually rode by on a bicycle carrying a heavy, shifting sack. Without a second of hesitation or an ounce of remorse, he dropped the bag onto the hard ground and pedaled away, discarding a living, breathing creature like yesterday’s trash.

When concerned residents cautiously approached the moving sack and opened it, they gasped in horror.

Inside lay a trembling dog in a deplorable state. But the most sickening detail was wrapped around her face. Someone had tightly bound her fragile snout with thick rubber tape.

She was struggling violently just to pull a tiny amount of air into her lungs.

The Military Police were immediately called to the heartbreaking scene. They quickly and carefully sliced the rubber tape off her nose, finally allowing her to take a deep, unobstructed breath before rushing her into the arms of a local rescue team.

Throughout the grueling hospital stay, her rescuer refused to leave her side.

He took over every aspect of her care. The man meticulously managed her regular feeding schedules, ensured she stayed hydrated, and gently administered her pain medications.
